Some of the most intriguing history of New York City can be found on a small, two mile island floating in the strong currents of the East River. Roosevelt Island dates back to days of British occupation, and has been home to the city's first insane asylum, smallpox hospital and is now home to the beautiful new FDR Four Freedoms Park. A quick ride on the Roosevelt Island Tramway - the only in the city - takes you high about the city of Manhattan before touching down for the start of this four mile run.
Meeting Location: Southwest corner of 59th Street and Lexington Avenue. Outside of the 4/5/6, N/R Subway Station. The meeting time is 8:30. The tram leaves at 8:45 and the run will begin at 9 am.
